Welcome to Thailand!
When you have arrived you can take a Tuk Tuk to your destination, but I do
not recommend it! The best way to get to your hotel or a guesthouse is with
a taxi! Bangkok is famous for its traffic, but a taxi ride should not be so
bad to your destination!
In Bangkok the best mode of transportation is a motorcycle it is fast and
cheap. You can also rent a bicycle for short distances. We do have some
elephants walking around in the city but they are more a tourist attraction.
You can start your sightseeing at Royal Grand Palace, see the Emerald Buddha
at Wat Phra Kaew and then go to the Temple of Golden Buddha in China Town.
You can go shopping at Pratunam , World Trade Center, Night Bazar, and
Chatuchak – The Weekend Market! When shopping in Bangkok a local – native
person would help, but be careful of con artists, especially Tuk Tuk drivers
who speak good English.
Night life in the city is fantastic! You have Go-Go bars, discos, ladyboy
cabaret shows, food stalls, and many restaurants! While Bangkok at night is
very safe, please be careful of card game scams.
After a few days in Bangkok you will be very tired and will want to get out
of the mad rat race! I recommend going north to Chiang Mai to the mountains
where you can enjoy the friendly Hill Tribe atmosphere, do some trekking,
bamboo rafting, white water rafting, rent a motorcycle, see a water fall,
eat some grass hopers, and drink some Mehkong Thai local whisky - Lao Kao, or a cold Shingha beer. Do not
forget to visit Pai and Nan province for nature and clean spirit!
After you have done with the north, head down south to the islands for
beaches, kayaking, and sun tan. The sea is tranquil, calm, and beautifully,
the locals are laid back, and you may even get to see some of the famous Muy
Tai Boxing between Thais and Farangs at the local stadium and fitness gyms!
While walking or relaxing on a beach find your love with a Thai girl or boy!
When you have seen the splendor of Thailand and you think you want to stay
here more than the 3 moths tourist visa – 2 months plus one month extension,
you can do a border run for a 30 day visa pass – but these are limited due
to a new Thai immigration law or get an English teaching job at one of the
local primary or secondary schools. Of course you can always do like I have
– become a partner in a Thai company and work and live with Thai people! You

again and again!
